Originally called Burlington Bay, Burlington is a beautiful waterfront city sandwiched between Hamilton and Oakville. The U.S. border lies a short distance over the Skyway Bridge, and three international airports are easily accessible through surrounding highways.
Burlington has multi-use trails and several parks, including Lasalle Park, Paletta Park, Lowville Park, and Mount Nemo Conservation Area. The Royal Botanical Gardens on the Burlington-Hamilton border also has its share of trails, gardens, and community event spaces. If swimming, skating, or golfing is your thing, you’ll be happy to know that Burlington offers four indoor and two outdoor pools, three splash pads, 12 ice pads, six community centres, and nine local golf courses.
Most Burlington schools are part of either the Halton District School Board or the Halton Catholic District School Board, which includes both elementary and secondary schools. There are also a variety of private, Christian, and Montessori schools.
